Why isn't there a login?
The explorer only reads already-public government data, so there is nothing account-specific to protect or personalize. Skipping accounts also means we don't have to collect an email, password, or identity from you just to look something up.
Where does my search actually go?
When you pick a district, mandal, and village, your browser asks our backend for that location's records. Our backend, in turn, asks the public BhuBharati portal (bhubharati.telangana.gov.in) for the same information, decrypts and parses its response, and streams it back to your browser. Your selections travel: browser → our server → government portal → our server → your browser. They are not sent anywhere else. See Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Is this the official government site?
No. BhuBharati Explorer is an independent, unofficial tool. The official portal is bhubharati.telangana.gov.in, linked from this site's footer. We read from it; we never write to it.
Why did my results disappear on reload?
By design. Fetched records live only in your browser's memory for that page load — reloading, closing the tab, or clearing the page starts you over with a blank explorer and nothing retained. This is the main reason there's no "history" or "recent searches" feature: we're not storing that.
Is the chat assistant private?
The version wired into the API defaults to a deterministic, rule-based field guide that answers from records already in your session — nothing goes to an external AI provider. An operator can optionally enable an OpenAI-backed mode instead; our production deployment keeps that switched off. Full details are on the AI and LLMs pages.
What should I do with an exported file?
Treat it like any file containing someone else's personal information — because it likely does (owner name, father's name, land extent). Store it somewhere reasonable, and don't publish or forward it more widely than you'd want your own land records forwarded.
How accurate is the data?
As accurate as the source portal's response at fetch time, parsed automatically. We don't independently verify ownership or title, and government records can lag real-world changes. For anything consequential — a purchase, a dispute, a loan — verify against the official portal or your current legal documents.
